God told the people, 
in the land where you belong, 
you will eat and be satisfied

But the people have never
belonged in any land very long,
and struggle to be satisfied.

My Mother chose to be satisfied
at 93 she chose to stop eating
and be satisfied.

I was not there when the people 
were told about eating and satisfaction

But i was there with my mother,
witness to the sacred act of being 
satisfied with nothing more to gain.

Our endless need to acquire and possess
is the curse we carried from the Garden,
the Flaming Sword preventing us from
Returning to Paradise.
