Being called to write prayer is a humbling experience. There are certainly moments of great inspiration, when the process seems easy. There are also many moments of doubt and the weight of responsibility can be overwhelming. Who am I to even think of speaking holy words?

Many of the prayers I have written come in the night – unbidden, but welcome. While I feel the presence of the Divine, there is also a longing for human presence. This is my prayer recognizing that I am in the company of many who are also seeking holy words and that I am never really alone when writing prayer.
